Since 2017, Brussels Mobility has been tracking the number of cyclists on Brussels cycle paths with about twenty counting posts. The figures serve to plan future cycle paths, but can also be consulted online via open data. Thanks to web designer Baudart, the figures can be followed live on a website, where the data of seventeen counting posts can be followed.
The most popular point is the Koolmijnenkaai every year. On average, about 175 cyclists pass the counting post per hour. The counting point along the cycle path on Tentoonstellingslaan in Jette has the fewest passages, the counter is only 67,625 for this year.
