After a pilot project, the ‘MyPermit’ app is now available in 17 of the 19 Brussels municipalities. The city of Brussels is one of the municipalities that has been given access to the application. This was reported by Alderman of Urban Planning Anaïs Maes (Vooruit.brussels).
The application enables citizens and companies to digitally submit and monitor urban development permit applications. The figures from the pilot project in six Brussels municipalities, which started in June, show that more than three-quarters of the regional applications for an urban development permit were submitted via the application. For municipal applications this amounts to a quarter.
From November 21, 2023, eleven other municipalities, including the city of Brussels, have also joined the MyPermit platform. According to the city, “this marks a further step in the optimization of administrative processes.” Paper applications remain possible, of course.
The digital counter makes it easier to submit and follow up applications. It is also easier to share information between the applicant and architect. “All Brussels residents with construction plans can now also apply for a permit digitally via MyPermit,” says Alderman Maes proudly. “It saves the applicant a mountain of paper and contact with the services involved is optimized. A new step towards streamlining services to the people of Brussels.”
Councilor for Smart City and Administrative Simplification, Fabian Maingain (DéFI), is satisfied with the virtual step forward. “With MyPermit, citizens and economic players receive a new service channel for their urban planning procedures, to make them more efficient and simpler. This initiative is in line with the policy to digitize the operation of our administration, which has been in place since the beginning of this legislature fed.”
The municipalities of Sint-Pieters-Woluwe and Ixelles have not yet registered.
