Things to do in Antwerp City

Belgium, (Brussels Morning Newspaper) If you are visiting Belgium, you should know the history of Antwerp City. It’s a medieval port city on the River Scheldt with a rich heritage that stretches back to the Middle Ages. You can see thousands of diamond cutters, polishers, and traders in the Diamond District. If you are visiting the country, you should also take time to explore the Flemish Renaissance architecture of the old town. You can also visit the Grote Markt, the central square of the old town, and the Rubens House, where you can admire the works of famous Dutch painter Peter Paul Rubens.

The Antwerp Museum is a must see when you visit the city. It is an open-air museum that offers rides and attractions based on famous comic strips and cartoon characters. This museum is free to enter, but it is worth the trip for the views it offers. You can also take the water bus to the ‘t Steen Castle for a short trip down the Scheldt River. Another great place to visit is Sint Anna, a small sandy beach where you can relax and enjoy a snack.

The MAS Museum is another great place to visit for kids. Its rooftop observatory provides panoramic views of the city, so you can see everything without the need to take a plane. Children will also enjoy exploring the museums and galleries in Antwerp. You can visit the Middelheim Open-Air and Sculpture Museum and the Aviation Museum Stampe Vertongen. If you’re visiting the city for the first time, be sure to check out the MAS Museum, which is free to enter with an adult.

For an educational experience, you can take the kids to the Plantin-Moretus Museum. The building is decorated with colorful murals and other interesting objects from the past. The MAS is located in an historic 16th century home, and features a rooftop deck that offers panoramic views of Antwerp. Afterwards, you can take the train back to Antwerp and head to the Chocolate Nation to learn about the origin of Belgian chocolate and pralines. You can even sample some of the local chocolates.

Antwerp Central Park is a popular spot for people to enjoy a picnic. There are a number of playgrounds in the park, which is close to the Antwerp Zoo. For an afternoon of culture and fun, try some of the city’s many attractions. There are plenty of things to do in Antwerp city. You can combine different activities and places with a family. It is important to get to know the locals in Antwerp.

You can visit the Rubenshuis. This historical building was the home to the famous artist Peter Paul Rubens. It’s now a museum where you can see some of the beautiful paintings of the Dutch Renaissance. The Grote Markt is also a great place for locals to eat. Its market is bustling with bars and cafes. The atmosphere is quite unique in Antwerp.
