Florida was supposed to be the state where Joe Biden was going to bury Donald Trump early on election night. That is not going to happen as Trump is almost certain to carry the state. That is bad news for Biden supporters. However, the one piece of very good news thus far is from Ohio, where Biden is currently leading by 12 points with 42% of the vote in. Ohio has 18 electoral votes, 11 fewer than Florida but it is a very important state for Trump. Not only does he need those 18 electoral votes, but if Trump cannot win Ohio, his chances of winning the three other midwestern industrial states of Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania, which are all similar demographically to Ohio but more Democratic, will not be good. If Biden sweeps these four midwestern state, Florida will not be enough for Trump.
