Brussels (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Many men around the world suffer due to low testosterone levels. However, exercise may help especially if you follow the right schedule. Doctors and fitness professionals keep in mind the link between exercise and testosterone levels. Several other factors besides a good workout can help increase the level of testosterone. One thing is clear you need to keep a regular exercise routine to come up with favorable results. Some experts believe that testosterone will only increase for a little while as you exercise. It will go down to the original level after a few hours though.

The Link between Exercise & Testosterone

There are plenty of exercises that can increase male hormones. However, you need to keep in mind that T levels will work differently for many people. Here is how exercise and testosterone levels are connected:

Testosterone production

Testosterone is a sex hormone in men but it is also found in women. However, the amount is not the same for both genders. Men rely on testosterone to hold an erection for a long. The adrenal glands produce this hormone but it will depend on many factors, especially age. As you grow older the natural amount of hormones also goes down. In men, a high level of testosterone is naturally produced in the testicles. T-levels are one of the primary hormones that are present in a male’s body.

Teenagers go through many changes in their bodies until they reach the adult level. These changes include getting more muscles and the growth of facial hair. Mostly the voice deepens as men come to a certain age. There is no doubt that a healthy level of testosterone is necessary throughout life. As you get older or you have a disease like diabetes the production of testosterone naturally goes down. Sometimes obesity and heart disease can naturally make your hormones go down.

How Can Exercise Affect Testosterone Levels?

Many researchers state the effect of exercise on the level of testosterone. When a man lifts weight the level of this hormone will automatically go up. This significant increase will help men lead a better lifestyle. Moreover, resistance training can also increase the amount of testosterone. It can have an overall fat distribution in their body. Even when a man gets older regular physical activity can turn out to be in their favor.

As testosterone is a growth hormone it can bring a good effect on the functioning of the brain. If you can consider yearlong exercise it can help you achieve your goals quicker. There is no doubt that regular exercise can increase the level of testosterone by 14.5%. Even though exercise can help you lose weight but this change will be gradual as compared to t-levels. You will be surprised to know that when the T-levels are heightened it will help you build more muscles than usual.

Best Exercises to Enhance the Level of Testosterone

Do you want to increase the level of testosterone? Here are some good exercises that you can try:

1. Resistance Training

Resistance exercises are proven to be a great success for men. It helps increase short and long-term T-levels like never before. Most of the resistance training includes weightlifting. Many males consider weightlifting one of the best exercises to boost their T-levels. According to a study men who tried strength training 3 to 4 days a week have seen a significant rise in their hormones. However, the effects aren’t the same for everyone. When it comes to the 30-minute weightlifting season it can increase the T-levels by 21.6%. However, the increase in women will be significantly lower. The T-level gains in women may not seem to be very important though.

2. High-Intensity Interval Training

High-intensity interval training is a good way to boost the testosterone level in men. If you can try out interval training for 90 minutes it can enhance the level quickly. You can also try out treadmill running at a speed of 90 seconds. Post the recovery period you will notice a significant rise in the testosterone level. Other studies have proved that taking DHEA supplements along with an exercise session can increase the hormone in older men. Another study in 2014 proved that exercise does help in increasing the hormone level.

Factors That Matter: How To Enhance The T-Levels

You can look for a perfect exercise schedule to keep yourself healthy. If you want to enhance the level of testosterone, here are some factors that matter:

1. Weight

Men with low testosterone have to consider their weight. For many men, obesity can turn out to be a big problem. In case you are overweight you can improve your level of testosterone. You must understand the level of your hormones and metabolism in many ways.

2. Age

Older men cannot handle the pressure of exercise. This is why the boost in testosterone will be lower than usual. However, many experts believe that this requires even more extensive research. No matter what you choose, feel assured exercises have many health benefits to offer. It also improves bone and muscle health along with better balance.

3. Frequent Exercise

Your testosterone levels can vary throughout the day or night. Usually, the t-levels are highest during the morning and lowest in the afternoon. Many types of research have proved that strength training workouts can have a significant impact on the level of testosterone. The effects of the exercise will be even bigger if you can schedule the timings correctly.

Usually, all the men who are in good shape have higher T-levels conveniently. Different types of exercises can work in your favor. Moreover, your fitness level and level of frequency are also considered. Keep in mind that one exercise may be suitable for one person. While for others it may bring different results.
