Maria Spyraki: Why was Kyriakos Mitsotakis put on “ice”?

Pancheri appears, according to the publication, to burn the socialist MEP Mark Tarabella for whom he mentioned that he visited Qatar while putting Maria Arena in the frame of the case, noting that “I know that he once went to Qatar and took gifts…” .

The agreement

Pancheri, who will do everything to lighten his position, in his testimony reportedly said that there was an agreement on the basis of which the group in which he participated with current and former MEPs, which he said, arose in 2019 when the same MEP was not re-elected.

There is also talk of the huge amount of money found in a suitcase under the bed and in a safe in the living room of Pancheri’s house, an element on which the prosecutor of Belgium will rely.

Also, in its article, the Italian newspaper refers to a fire document that is included in the case file and which describes the role of the secret services in the revelation of Qatargate.

In the document, according to the publication, there is talk of secret agents who entered Pancheri’s house and searched it, opening from closets to the small safe.

Video “burns” Panzeri – Giorgi

Meanwhile, the revelations about the alleged Qatargate mastermind are in full swing as a video obtained by the prosecution in Belgium gives Antonio Panzeri, the alleged mastermind of the Qatargate ring, and Francesco Giorgi a headache.

Belgian authorities have footage from security cameras at the central hotel in the Belgian capital of a meeting Pancheri and Giorgi had with Ali Bin Samih al Marri and his delegation on October 10, a meeting that took place some 40 days before it was due to begin the World Cup in Qatar.

According to what has become known, Qatar’s Minister of Labor had booked the royal suite on the fourth floor of the hotel. He would appear at a European Parliament hearing on November 14 to answer questions from MEPs dealing with human rights. The preparation of the minister was undertaken by Pancheri and Giorgi.

The two appeared at the ultra-luxury hotel at 18:00 on the evening of October 10, as evidenced by footage in possession of the Belgian authorities.

Pancheri is holding a bag and Giorgi is pushing a cart. Inside was a child, with the media reporting that it may be the child of the Italian adviser and Eva Kaili.

In the video, from the movements of those who met, it can be seen that there is intimacy, especially between a member of the Qatari delegation and Giorgi.

The footage from the cameras on the 4th floor where the Qataris were staying may prove decisive as one of the members of the Gulf country’s delegation is seen in the hallway pushing a large trolley.

Thirty minutes later, around 18:30, Giorgi leaves the room pushing the stroller with his daughter.

He then reappears in the lobby, where he greets someone from a distance. He is a person the authorities consider to be “familiar” with Giorgi, with the Italian leaving him the pram with the child.

After a few minutes Giorgi returns to the fourth floor. Almost an hour later, the two Italians come out of the suite. Belgian authorities’ investigators note that Pancheri’s bag “looks much thicker than when it arrived,” whatever that might mean.
