Brussels (Brussels Morning) The City of Brussels is the largest municipality in the Brussels-Capital Region and the historic and administrative center of Belgium’s capital region. Located on the European continent, Brussels is the capital city of the European Union and the capital of Belgium. This is why Brussels is sometimes referred to as the EU capital city. It is the administrative and financial center of the country and the region and is home to a number of prominent institutions.

Belgium has many public holidays. Most of them are observed throughout the country. However, there are three public holidays for specific language communities, such as French and Dutch. All businesses in Belgium will close on these days. Most companies and schools will be closed these days. These days are the national day, which is celebrated with big celebrations and military displays. Popular regional Belgian holidays are not officially recognized but are still widely observed.

Generally, Belgian stores are closed on Sundays, but some are open on other days of the week. Tourist stores may be closed on a particular day, but are typically open on public holidays. Some businesses are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Check with your employer to find out if they’re closed on these days. The Belgian calendar will provide you with the dates of these and other upcoming holidays in 2020.

The French-speaking community has its own official and public holidays. On September 27, a group of patriots in Brussels won the war against the Dutch government troops in Brussels. This led to Belgium becoming independent. On September 27, 1830, these patriots started a nation known as the Walloons. On September 27th, the Belgian government declared the city of Bruxelles independent, which was marked by a national holiday. In addition to Saint Maarten, Belgium celebrates Pentecost, which marks the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles. Only public offices are closed on this day. Most businesses are open on this day.

In addition to public and private holidays, Belgium also celebrates four national and regional holidays. The holidays are mainly divided into four groups: the Dutch, the French, and the German. All of these celebrations are considered to be secular. The Belgian calendar also features a list of the most important events in Belgium. Its public and private events are held on these days. Its national and municipal holidays, and the day of the German parliament, are all celebrated in Brussels.

Ascension Day, which marks the ascension of the Lord Jesus, is the day for the French-speaking community. On the German-speaking side, Pentecost commemorates the date when the Holy Spirit descended on the Apostles. The Catholic holiday of Saints’ Day, Whit Monday, and Gregorian holidays are also celebrated. It is important to know which days are national and religious holidays in Brussels in order to properly plan your holiday.
