In the night from Friday to Saturday, a roof fire raged in a house in the Patriottenstraat in Brussels. There were no injuries, but the house was heavily damaged and is uninhabitable. This is reported by the Brussels fire brigade.
Fire Brigade Come to Scene
“Saturday around 4.18 am, the fire brigade had to come to the scene for a roof fire,” reports fire service spokesman Walter Derieuw. Both the residents of the building and those of the adjacent homes were evacuated, while the fire brigade tackled the fire.
The fire services were able to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring homes, but the damage to the affected home is considerable. The house was therefore declared uninhabitable.
On the second floor, the emergency services found a cannabis plantation. The prosecutor’s office opened an investigation. The cause of the fire has also yet to be determined.
