Brussels, (Brussels Morning)- In the last game of the thirteenth match day, Zulte Waregem RSC Anderlecht, ninth in the standings, delivered a 3-2 defeat on Thursday evening. At halftime it was 1-1. In hellish weather conditions Zinho Gano gave Essevee the victory in the final seconds with a striking header. Anderlecht played with ten for almost half an hour, after Kristian Arnstad got red.

Zulte Waregem immediately took the lead after a nice header from goalkeeper Jelle Vossen on a cross from Alieu Fadera (5th). RSC Anderlecht seemed completely lost when Lasse Vigen Christensen hit the post two minutes later. The inhabitants of Brussels were able to threaten for the first time through Red Devil Jan Vertonghen. His flight shot went just wide (20th).

At a standstill, goalscorer Vossen had to keep the ball off the line twice on attempts by Michael Murillo and Lucas Stassin (29th). The team of trainer Mbaye Leye reacted immediately with a shot on the crossbar of Chinonso Offor.

Then referee Nicolas Laforge came into the spotlight. Fabio Silva scored at the near post after a great move by Murillo. The VAR looked at the phase and where it was initially thought offside, it turned out that a mistake by Timothy Derijck on Silva had been made. He was then booked and Silva had to score on a penalty kick, which worked flawlessly (39th).

In the extra time of the first half, Zeno Debast almost got red when shielding the ball. VAR withdrew the red card. The second half was played in pouring rain. Substitute Yari Verschaeren (for Stassin) lost to Amadou Diawara, who scored his first goal for the Purple & White (1-2, 55.).

Elbow

Fabio Silva then celebrated his second goal of the evening, but was narrowly offside (61.). With no ball nearby, Kristian Arnstad elbowed Madou Tambedou. After viewing the images, the Norwegian was shown red (72).

In the pouring rain playing football became almost impossible. Leye brought in Abdoulaye Sissako (74.), who was able to head in free from a corner just five minutes later (81st, 2-2). With ten men Anderlecht could no longer make a real fist. A free kick by substitute Sebastiano Esposito went well wide.

Closer Zulte Waregem even did the impossible in extra time. Substitute Zinho Gano converted a cross from Alessandro Ciranni with the head (3-2). In the standings, Zulte now has as many points as Ostend, Kortrijk and Seraing (11). Felice Mazzu remains in ninth place with Anderlecht, with as many points as Charleroi and STVV.
