The second edition of the Brussels street food festival ‘StrEat Fest’ brings eighty chefs to Tour & Taxis. The poster features the Filipino dishes of chef Glen Ramaekers of Brussels restaurant ‘Humphrey’, star chef Kevin Lejeune, pastry chef Patrick Aubrion and ‘The Spicy Chef’ Soenil Bahadoer is also heading to Brussels.

During StrEat Fest, the festival wants to introduce the general public to street food for four days. “Seasoned chefs transform culinary dishes into affordable street food versions,” said Terry Vermandel, organizer of StrEat Fest.

Chef Glen Ramaekers of Brussels restaurant ‘Humphrey’: “Street food is about the culture and the country you come from. My mother is from the Philippines, so as an ambassador I want to introduce as many people as possible to the Philippines.”

In addition to Ramaekers, well-known chefs also find their way to Thurn & Taxis: star chef Kevin Lejeune, Alexandru Sapco, Fernand Obb, pastry chef Patrick Aubrion. ‘The Spicy Chef’ Soenil Bahadoer, with two stars to his name, is also heading to Brussels. At the end, the Swedish-Filipino chef Jerome Calayag chooses the winner of the annual ‘Chef & Shakers’ competition with a jury of international chefs.

‘Total Experience’

Visitors can also participate in interactive cooking classes, street workshops and enjoy music and dance.

StreEat Fest 2022 attracted 9,000 visitors to Tour & Taxis in Brussels. For the 2023 edition, the organization wants to shift up a gear and attract up to 15,000 visitors.
