BRUSSELS (Brussels Morning) – The federal police have distributed a search message to identify some looters who destroyed a Carrefour Express in Brussels during the corona demonstration on November 21.
The ‘Together for Freedom’ manifestation against the introduction of the corona pass attracted around 35,000 participants on Sunday, November 21. Most of them protested in peace, but in the margins of the procession there were heavy riots. The police had to regularly use water cannons and tear gas after protesters threw fireworks or other projectiles at the police. In addition, containers, garbage bins and pallets were set on fire here and there. The Carrefour Express supermarket on the Steenkool Kaai in Brussels was looted.
Police and prosecutors are now looking for thirteen suspects in that looting. At the end of November and mid-December, two search messages had already been distributed, for a total of 34 rioters.
Thirteen Suspects
The first person was wearing blue jeans and a pink hooded sweatshirt from the brand “Adidas”. The second was wearing black track pants with white lines on the side, a black down jacket and an orange hooded sweater. The third was wearing black track pants. with white lines on the side, a black jacket with hood and blue/grey baskets. The fourth person was wearing black clothes and red/black baskets,” the police said in the search message.
“The fifth person stole a shop assistant’s purse and made fraudulent cash withdrawals with bank cards. He has long curly hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing washed jeans with holes, a black hooded down jacket, black sneakers with white soles, a gold watch and a silver bracelet,” the police continued.
“The sixth person has dark hair shaved down the sides and an incipient beard. He was wearing light blue jeans, a grey T-shirt and a dark down jacket with a white logo. The seventh was wearing dark clothing, a black balaclava and black/ “White basketball shoes. The eighth wore dark trousers, a black down jacket, a black cap and dark baskets with white soles. The ninth has dark hair shaved on the sides. He was wearing blue washed jeans and a black hooded down jacket.”
“The tenth person was wearing dark trousers, a black hooded down jacket with the inscription “new balance” at the bottom of the back. The eleventh was dressed in black and was carrying advent calendars. The twelfth was wearing black clothes, white basketball shoes and a gray scarf. The thirteenth was wearing beige pants, a yellow hooded sweater and grey/blue sneakers,” police said.
