Experience Convenient And Comfortable Night Train Travel Between Brussels and Vienna By 2023

Today it only runs three times a week, but from the winter timetable of 2023, the Austrian nightjet train runs every day between Brussels and Vienna. This is reported by the Austrian train company ÖBB.

After announcing a night train between Brussels, Amsterdam and Berlin from May 2023, the Austrian transport company ÖBB is now also coming with happy news. The night train that already ran three times a week between Brussels and Vienna will be reinforced. From December 2023 you can travel daily by night train from Brussels to Vienna.

The extra connections are made possible thanks to the Austrian ÖBB, which purchases new Nightjet coaches for its trains from Vienna to Italy. The vacated (older) carriages on those lines will be trudging between Brussels and Vienna at the end of 2023.

Good news, agrees Alexander Gomme of ‘Back on Track Belgium’, which has been striving for more night trains in Europe for years. “In the high season, many interested people can no longer find a ticket,” says Gomme. “That discourages and makes the plane more attractive. Due to a more regular offer, the night train is a fully-fledged public transport option.”

New Connection Paris-Berlin Also Felt in Brussels

In Brussels, we also benefit from a new connection between Paris and Berlin, which runs via Strasbourg and does not serve Brussels, but does provide a wider range of direct destinations.

After all, trains from Brussels and Paris will be coupled in Mannheim with trains from Vienna and Berlin.

“It is not yet a Paris-Brussels-Berlin link as it existed in 2014, but it shows that Brussels is an important destination.”
