Brussels (Brussels Morning) Since this Sunday evening, Brussels residents aged 18 and over can make an appointment for this so-called “booster” dose against Covid-19.
This is one of the decisions of the recent Interministerial Committee of Health Ministers which has been implemented: since this Sunday evening, all adults domiciled in Belgium are eligible for a booster dose of the vaccine against Covid-19. No priority group has been established for the next few weeks. The second (if you have had the Johnson & Johnson vaccine) or the third dose can be given to you as long as you wait a certain time compared to the last dose received at the start of the year.
Different deadlines depending on your vaccine
Thus, people who have been vaccinated with a single dose of Johnson & Johnson can receive a new dose after two months.
People who have received the AstraZeneca vaccine must wait four months.
And people who have received the Moderna or BioNTech-Pfizer messenger RNA vaccine must wait six months before a new dose.
Will I receive an invitation by mail?
Invitations have already been sent by the Common Community Commission (Cocom), the Brussels authority in charge of this vaccination campaign, depending on the vaccine administered, the date of the complete vaccination and the age of the person.
Currently, people over 65, immunocompromised people and healthcare workers have already been advised to receive a new dose of the vaccine.
Can I already register to receive this booster dose?
The Bru-Vax platform has been open since Sunday evening to all Brussels residents aged 18 and over who wish to obtain this new dose of vaccine.
As with the first dose, when you are on the Bru-Vax home page, you will need to enter your national registry number and postal code.
You can then choose the vaccination center or antenna of your choice before choosing a date and time that suits you. Be careful to respect the deadlines specified above. Bru-Vax does not take these times into account, so you should calculate the time between your last dose and this booster yourself to avoid disappointment.
As soon as the date and time are chosen, you will only have to confirm this appointment with a code received by SMS on your phone number.

Where can I get vaccinated?
At the time of writing, five vaccination centers are still open: the Reine Astrid military hospital in Neder-over-Heembeek, the Pachéco center in Brussels, the Chaussée de Gand center in Molenbeek, the Joli center -Wood in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre and the center of Molière-Longchamp in Forest. The RSC Anderlecht stadium center at Parc Astrid will also reopen in December.
As a bonus, around fifteen other branches are available throughout the Brussels Region, as are the vaccination buses, the famous Cocom vacci-buses.
What should I take to the vaccination center?
You will need your vaccination record or your Covid Safe Ticket, as well as your identity card. A rest period is also recommended after administration of this booster dose.
People who suffer from fever or symptoms are also asked not to come to their appointment and to contact Cocom on 02/214 19 19.
