COVID-19 Agenda
The European Parliament agenda is dominated by the Coronavirus emergency given the credible threat of a resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic in different regions.
The Committee on Regional Development is to vote on a report presented by rapporteurs Mr. Novakov (EPP) and Ms. Krehl (S&D) on the Commission’s REACT-EU proposal. The policy objective is to increase Cohesion Fund support for economic recovery from the COVID-19 crisis.
The Committee on Environmental, Public Health and Food Safety meets to debate a European Vaccine Strategy, complete with a framework for Vaccines Advance Purchase Agreements. This is expected to be milestone development as the European Commission is already in talks with producers to secure safe and affordable vaccines for all Europeans.
The Subcommittee on Human Rights of the Committee on Foreign Affairs is expected to assess the situation in Belarus in the aftermath of the hotly contested presidential elections of 9 August last. The meeting will be attended by representatives of Bielarusian Civil Society who are expected to testify.
The Agriculture and Rural Development Committee meets to assess the effects of the C-19 pandemic on the agriculture sector across Europe.
The Committee on Industry, Energy and Research will be holding a similar meeting.
Automation and Labour Market
The Committee on Employment and Social Affairs votes on a framework intended to regulate the ethical aspects of artificial intelligence, robotics and related technologies.

International Trade
The Committee on Development convenes remotely to continue the 3 September negotiations on the post-Cotonou OACP-EU Partnership Agreement.
Human Rights
The Petition Committee convenes to vote on two reports dealing with: (a) Fundamental Rights, produced by Ms. Toom (Renew); and (b) reducing inequalities, produced by Ms. Maestre (S&D).
The Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs holds a meeting to discuss policy options responses to the COVID-19 economic crisis.
The Committee Women’s Right and Gender Equality reconvenes on 7 and 9 September to discuss amendments to the gender dimension of Artificial Intelligence and Cohesion Policy.
The Committee on Civil Liberties and Justice and Home Affairs holds a vote on the same framework while discussing other relevant topics such as the procedures to adopt from Member States to return migrants.
