Brussels, (Brussels Morning)- Union needs another point at the Swedish Malmö on Thursday on the fifth match day of the group stage of the Europa League to gain certainty about wintering in the second European cup. With a win, the group win is a fact. Since the 3-3 draw against Braga two weeks ago, Union has been assured of wintering in the Conference League.

Union starts on Thursday in Malmö at 6.45 pm. At the same time there is also Union Berlin-Braga in Berlin. In case of a division of points between those two teams, Union can also rely on a draw in Malmö for group victory.

The group winner goes straight to the eighth finals of the Europa League, for the number two a jump-off with a number three from the Champions League is provided. The number three in the group goes to the jump-offs of the Conference League.

The inhabitants of Brussels have already completed a fantastic course in the Europa League. Union is the leader in group D with ten points and three points ahead of Braga. Union Berlin, the leader in the Bundesliga, is third with six points. Malmö couldn’t pick up anything yet.

In the other matches on Thursday in the Europa League, it is looking forward to Fenerbahçe-Rennes. At ‘Fener’, Michy Batshuayi is good at shooting, with four goals in his last five matches.

Rennes hopes to recover Jérémy Doku for the duel in Istanbul. Arthur Theate is a fixture at the back with the Bretons.

PSV and Arsenal look each other in the eye again after the 1-0 victory of the Gunners last Thursday. Albert Sambi Lokonga (Arsenal) was then at the kick-off, Johan Bakayoko (PSV) remained on the bench. Yorbe Vertessen (PSV) is out with muscle complaints.

The Monaco of coach Philippe Clement and Eliot Matazo still has to fight hard for qualification at Ferencvaros. Yannick Ferrera is on the bench for the first time at Omonia Nicosia, scoreless last in group E, which takes on Real Sociedad for its own people.
