The local police of the Brussels Capital/Ixelles zone stopped an electric scooter on Thursday that drove through the Alhambra district at 60 kilometers per hour. This happened during a check on mopeds, in which eleven bicycles were also caught that had been driven up, the Brussels police reported on Friday.
The Traffic Directorate of the Brussels Capital/Ixelles police zone checked a total of 48 mopeds during that action. Eleven of these were found to have increased speed, and those mopeds were therefore immobilized.
“During the check, an electric scooter was also noticed driving through the Alhambra district at high speed,” the police said. “When the motorcycle police officers went after it, it turned out to reach a speed of about 60 kilometers per hour. The driver was eventually stopped.”
The action also resulted in official reports for, among other things, the lack of a valid driver’s license and three drivers were found to be driving under the influence of narcotics, according to the police.
