Lititz, PA - October 26, 2020: President Donald Trump speaks to supporters during Make America Great Again Victory Rally at Lancaster airport

Belgium (Brussels Morning Newspaper), In the ever-evolving global landscape, significant changes are on the horizon, and one pressing question lingers: Is Donald Trump poised for a presidential comeback? This potential return comes with looming shifts in political dynamics, particularly the contrasting views of Republicans and Democrats on issues like Ukraine, Russia, NATO, and more.

Ukraine remains a focal point, with some Republicans displaying reluctance to provide assistance, arguing it may not be worth it. Trump, known for his amicable ties with Vladimir Putin, even advocated for Russia’s return to the G7, raising eyebrows and criticism within his party.

The NATO issue also looms large. The idea of the United States, a founding member and its most influential participant, exiting this powerful alliance seems implausible. Trump’s wavering stance on Russia, shifting from friend to foe and back, adds to the intrigue.

Trump’s enduring support base is enigmatic. His presidency witnessed economic prosperity, marked by record Dow Jones Index highs. However, his tenure was also marred by high unemployment, exacerbated by the pandemic.

Let’s delve into the pros and cons of Trump’s presidency. His promises to renegotiate trade agreements, address immigration issues through a border wall with Mexico, repeal Obamacare, reduce taxes, and support veterans underscored his agenda.

Under Trump, U.S.-China relations deteriorated significantly, leading to a trade war and Huawei, a major Chinese manufacturer, facing supply disruptions. This stemmed from allegations of espionage, though deeper factors fueled this rift. Trump’s own financial interests in China have muddled the waters.

The immigration crisis unfolded with Trump’s “zero tolerance” policy, increasing deportations and separating migrant families. The construction of a border wall aimed to deter illegal immigration but faced practical challenges.

Trump’s efforts to dismantle Obamacare hit roadblocks, as changes to the healthcare system required congressional support. While his administration reduced taxes, economic growth continued, and the stock market thrived.

Support for veterans saw charitable initiatives, yet some argue that government support should be more substantial.

In conclusion, Trump’s presidency was a mixed bag of successes and failures. He demonstrated economic prowess, ended the Afghan war, and withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal. However, challenges in handling unemployment, immigration, and the pandemic have placed a substantial burden on his successor, Joe Biden.

The question remains: Can Donald Trump reclaim the presidency? The answer is yes. Claims of election fraud in 2020 persist, with allegations of Democratic Party fraud through mail-in ballots. Trump’s substantial public support, influential connections, and financial resources position him as a formidable contender for the 2024 presidential elections.
