Belgium (Brussels Morning Newspaper), The Bridge Theatre group in Brussels has built up an excellent reputation for producing top class productions.

Among those who have endorsed the theatre’s work is the famous English actor David Suchet, who is probably best known to audiences around the world for playing Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot, the famous Belgian sleuth.

Now the group is set for what it hopes is its latest success.

Called “Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune”, it runs in Brussels for three weeks in June and is an intimate love story that promises to captivate audiences with its raw emotion and timeless themes.

The Bridge Theatre is Brussels’ professional English-language production company which has delighted audiences with successful productions in the past. The company, known for its thought-provoking and socially relevant plays, also runs regular workshops in the performing arts along with immersive trainings for organisations.

Written by Tony Award-winning playwright Terrence McNally, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, written in 1987, is a comedy following the passionate journey of two lonely souls, Frankie and Johnny, a diner waitress and a short order cook, who meet for a night of fiery passion, expecting a return to loneliness.

But as desire turns into the possibility of love, they realise that true connection means being unafraid to allow themselves to be seen for who they really are.

Debra Baker (“Supacell” – Netflix,“It’s a Sin” – Ch4) and Alan Turkington (“Dead Hot” – Video Prime, “Heartstopper” – Netflix) take the starring roles.

The English-language production takes place at RESET, rue du Ligne 8 in Bruxelles from 6 June. It is recommended for those aged 16 and over.

Info: 6 June – 22 June (Tuesdays – Saturdays at 19.30 and Saturdays at 14.30). Tickets will be available as of the beginning of May.More here: https://thebridge.brussels/home
