The City of Brussels is looking for an operator of a flower stall for the vacant kiosk on the Anspachlaan. This is the kiosk opposite the casino in the pedestrian zone.
With a flower stand, the board hopes to bring diversity to business in the pedestrian zone. The kiosk must counterbalance the large number of fast food restaurants on the Brussels piétonnier.
It is not the first time that the city wants to attract a florist for the kiosk, which has been there since the redevelopment of the central avenues. Through a tender, the City of Brussels was already looking for a flower seller because there was no one in the area. At the beginning of 2019, florist Raphaël moved into the modern building of barely 5.7 m2. However, his stay on Anspachlaan did not last long: at the end of 2019, the kiosk was already empty.
One of the conditions for the new open vacancy is that the florist may only sell natural flowers and plants, not plastic products. The business must be open five days a week. “The operator will be given the right to use the kiosk for a period of one year, which can be tacitly renewed,” the city council added.
