BRUSSELS (Brussels Morning) – One skill is not the other. Some we can master right away, for others we just have to put in a little more effort. But giving up is not an option, because these skills will come in handy sooner or later.
1. Empathy
You have undoubtedly thought it yourself: it is the hard aunts that are successful. But you won’t get anywhere without a touch of empathy. If you can easily empathise, and can feel what the other person feels, you are undoubtedly one step ahead. Empaths are born salespeople and motivate others to do even better.
2. Time is money
And that’s why it’s best to do time management. This not only gives you more control over your agenda, it also makes it easier for you to relax.
3. A real positive
Especially about yourself. It doesn’t matter what others think, as long as you believe in yourself. Not an easy task, but a healthy dose of self-confidence is the beginning of success. If you always think negatively about yourself, you will achieve just the opposite and slowly but surely destroy your confidence.
4. Your nose in your own business
Dealing with other people’s problems will only cost you time and effort, without helping anyone. So stick your nose in your own business, that is often tiring enough.
5. Raging in silence
You have those moments when you have to bite your tongue really hard, and sometimes you blurt out things that you later regret. So if you feel your frustrations bubbling up, it’s wise to keep quiet. Not easy to learn, but very important.
6. The here and now
Do your thoughts ever wander? Then immediately call yourself to order, because research shows that it makes you anything but happy. So live in the here and now.
7. Spanish, Italian or Chinese
The more languages you speak, the better. Not only does it increase your job opportunities, but it also gives you the opportunity to think differently and gives you a new set of emotions. So only benefits!
8. Honesty lasts long
A white white lie, we are all guilty. Still, it’s best to just be honest, even if you don’t have anything positive to say. It’s about how you package it.
